Nate proudly served in the Navy for 4 years serving on the U.S.S. George washington as an Aviation Boatswains Mate during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He is a Plank Holder for the Aircraft Carrier U.S.S. George Washington (CVN 73).
While serving in the Navy he met his wife Susie who he has been happily married to for 24 years. Nate and Susie have 2 amazing daughters Juliette and Josette.
After his service in the military Nate became a small business owner and continues to own and operate a small business here in Culpeper.
Nate is currently serving on the Culpeper School Board where he has been a champion for school safety, Career Technical Education, teacher retention and reforming and reducing onerous standardized testing. He has served as the Chairman of the school board and is currently serving as the chair of the capital planning committee.
Nate has also been a relentless advocate for ensuring that tax dollars are spent wisely and efficiently.
Nate's service to his community is not limited to the School Board. As the education committee chair for the Community Resources United to Stop Heroin (CRUSH) 501C3, Nate has been on the front lines in combating the opioid epidemic by ensuring that our students, parents and law enforcement have the resources they need to effectively combat addition in our community.
Nate and his family are actively involved with Mountain View Community Church where they have served in the Culpeper Warming Shelter. Nate and his family have also been heavily involved in the Homeless Ministry providing for the material, emotional and spiritual needs of people in our community.
